About Metropolitan Bible Fellowship

We are a church for South Asian Community that seeks to serve the Indian community along with all other neighboring countries of India that understand Hindi. It is led by Pastor Maxwell George, who has served as teacher and preacher in India, developing untrained pastors and leaders for over 10 years. He has planted several churches in India and is registered under the banner of Urban Life Fellowship.


Our church is a bilingual service. We desire to minister every age group from young to the old. The building premises is blessed with nursery room, Sunday school room, fellowship hall and kitchen. Hospitality is the key to fellowship and fellowship is the doorway to share the love of God with His people.

We here at MBF believe in nurturing each other through weekly activities like Bible study, prayer fellowship, kids and women’s ministry. Evangelism is always a greater ground to reach the unreached, seekers and lost. Hence tract distribution along with active street ministry in this city that never sleeps stands of utmost importance. The Sunday sermons are based on expository preaching with an eminence on Bible based teaching. The Sunday school ministry is specific about sharing Gospel with children for every Sunday class as based on Deuteronomy Chapter 6. 

The digital presence is the roll call of the hour for reaching the larger audience and hence we have also made our sermons, services tangible on social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube.

We are a church that is centred on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our primary goal is to know, proclaim and to exalt Him. We meet on Sunday and throughout the week to study God’s word, enjoy fellowship with one another and to worship God. We also love the city New York and long to see worshippers of Jesus multiplied in this place and beyond.

  • Our Vision – To build Christ-exalting congregations that are reaching every person in New York with gospel and to train leaders who will build Christ-exalting congregations in other part of the city even beyond the New York.

What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, where the divine will for humankind is revealed. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.


One GOD – eternally existent in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – is the Sovereign Lord and Creator of all things; the God who is above us, with us, and for us is Love!

  • God the Father reigns with loving providential care over His universe, and has intervened all through its history to bring His good purposes to completion.

  • God the Son, Jesus Christ, is the Author and Lord of life who became a man for our sakes. His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, death as a sacrifice for our sins, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and promise to return in power and glory, represent humanity’s only hope for salvation.

  • God the Holy Spirit is our Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who comes to live inside each believer at the moment of salvation; He enables people to understand truth and respond to it; He cultivates Christian character, strengthens believers to witness, makes them one in Christ, and teaches them to love as Christ loved.

All human beings - created in God’s image, have sinned and become destitute of God’s glory, resulting in spiritual bondage and death; therefore, all alike are in need of salvation. Christ’s death on the cross was both the consequence and the payment for our sins, and through His resurrection He offers eternal life to all who place their trust in Him.

Salvation - is only by grace (an undeserved gift) through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As one repents of sin and selfishness and believes in Jesus Christ he or she becomes a child of God. As we respond to His call to discipleship, He teaches us to live out our salvation, becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.

The Church - is both local and universal. The local church is a congregation of believers united together for worship, fellowship, teaching, prayer, Lord’s table, ministry, and mission, under the leadership of Christ’s Spirit, exercising His gifts for the benefit of the Body. The church universal is all the redeemed of all the ages.

The two ordinances of the local church are believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

Tithes and free-will offerings are the scriptural example of the financial support of the local church.

Know Your Pastor
Pastor Maxwell George, is from New Delhi, India. He is from IT background. After receiving Christ as personal savior he committed his life and decisions to serve Christ. His deep interest in learning the word has led him to accomplish his theological training. After  which he served  as national faculty and Bible teacher to train, untrained pastors and leaders in several states and cities  of India. The learning for him never ends and he completed his double Masters in Religious Education and theology from Cornerstone University, Michigan.

He was burdened to establish churches and give sound doctrinal base to Hindi congregation and this led to planting of churches in Northern India which are registered under the banner of Urban Life Fellowship. 

With  a passion to serve Christ in teaching and preaching Pastor Maxwell planted a Hindi congregation in New York. He along with his wife Della and two children serve Christ. The ministry now continues in Queens and Brooklyn. He desires to equip the church with sound biblical understanding of His word and advocates Baptist faith and doctrine in the functioning of the church.
